Barns Are Some of My Favorite Subjects
These are several of the great old barns that are scattered over the countryside here on the Eastern Shore of Maryland where I live. They make great fodder for painting. The first one is on the Miles River in Talbot County and was done "en Plein Air" or right on the spot in the open air. The second one is in a favorite spot where we go bicycling along Route 18 in Queen Anne's County.
A Few More
I just love these geraniums. They were sitting in this old cheese can and I spotted them while traveling in Turkey on one of the islands off the coast. I thought it might be a nice contrast to the cooler wintery scenes below.
What Happened To 2011?
I have not published any new entries since December 2010. The year got away from me. I will try to do better. So, here are a few new posts with paintings I've done in 2011 and beyond. The theme is obviously winter. The first two are alpine scenes from Zermatt, Switzerland where I spent a week last year. Cross country skiing is amazing there. The third is a scene of downed timbers that I just loved how the light shined and reflected off the wood.
