Black Friday and Beyond

"View of Marshy Creek"
Pastel
Now that Thanksgiving is behind us, we can prepare for the coming holidays.  My Christmas tree is up and decorated and I"m pretty happy about that.  To celebrate, I thought I'd post another painting that is one of my favorite scenes here on the Eastern Shore.  I painted this from a friend's balcony overlooking Marshy Creek.  It is an iconic Eastern Shore scene and just makes me want to get out there and paint some more.

Happy Thanksgiving to All

"Old Barn on a Snowy Day"
Watercolor
I have started receiving a few comments, so the comment feature seems to be working.  I think I reset something in the "settings" area.  Hopefully, anyone who wishes can get through now.  I've included a piece which I sold a while ago, that is reminiscent of an old time Thanksgiving, and wish you all a very Happy Thanksgiving holiday with your loved ones.

Comments about Comments

I have set my blog to allow comments but I've heard from several people who couldn't post comments via the blog.  If you are having trouble with this, please let me know by emailing me at gtoews@verizon.net.  I will try to find out what is happening.

A Rose is a Rose.....

This painting was done in a class with the renowned Eastern Shore artist, Barbara Jablin.  She is a member of the famed "Travelling Brushes" artists group. She is a beautiful person, a beautiful artist and an inspiration to all her students.  This photo was taken through the glass as I had already framed the painting (I keep forgetting to photograph before I frame :-).  I'll try to do better in the future!

I've Just Created My First Blog

Today I decided to get into the digital age a bit and start a blog about my art.  I follow a number of other artists whose work I admire and they have inspired me to try this out.  So, I will be putting some of my paintings up on my blog and hope others may be interested in what I have posted.  We'll see how this works out.  Here goes....
