My 2010 Christmas Card

"The Shed"
Watercolor
I did this painting of a scene on my sister's property in New Mexico.  Her son is a very talented carpenter among other things, and he built the shed as well as a pen and doghouse for Rocky, her adorable "Rez" dog.  Rocky was adopted from the Good Shepherd Mission on the Navajo Reservation.  Actually my card had a wreath scanned in for the season, but it was not in the original painting.  I gave the painting to my sister for Christmas.  She really liked the wreath in it, so I may have to add it back in when I go out to visit!

One of My Favorite Eastern Shore Scenes - Summer Soybean Fields

Soybean Field II, Perry Corner Road
Pastel
This is a favorite place that I go in the late summer to paint.  I stand at the side of the road (fortunately it's pretty rural) and just soak in the beautiful gold of the soybean fields, set up my easel and paint.  I can do pastel freely out there as I don't have to worry about getting the dust on my white carpets!  You can see the southern Chesapeake Bay (actually, Prospect Bay) off in the distance.
