My 2010 Christmas Card
One of My Favorite Eastern Shore Scenes - Summer Soybean Fields
This is a favorite place that I go in the late summer to paint. I stand at the side of the road (fortunately it's pretty rural) and just soak in the beautiful gold of the soybean fields, set up my easel and paint. I can do pastel freely out there as I don't have to worry about getting the dust on my white carpets! You can see the southern Chesapeake Bay (actually, Prospect Bay) off in the distance.

Comments about Comments
I have set my blog to allow comments but I've heard from several people who couldn't post comments via the blog. If you are having trouble with this, please let me know by emailing me at gtoews@verizon.net. I will try to find out what is happening.
A Rose is a Rose.....
This painting was done in a class with the renowned Eastern Shore artist, Barbara Jablin. She is a member of the famed "Travelling Brushes" artists group. She is a beautiful person, a beautiful artist and an inspiration to all her students. This photo was taken through the glass as I had already framed the painting (I keep forgetting to photograph before I frame :-). I'll try to do better in the future!

I've Just Created My First Blog
Today I decided to get into the digital age a bit and start a blog about my art. I follow a number of other artists whose work I admire and they have inspired me to try this out. So, I will be putting some of my paintings up on my blog and hope others may be interested in what I have posted. We'll see how this works out. Here goes....
